Here are a few of my shoe picks for spring. I've chosen the high end styles and similar high street ones that are available here in Malta, or online. Hope you find this helpful!
The first is a classic black pump. You can never go wrong with a pair of simple black pointy pump. They instantly make any outfit classy and sexy. My favourite look is with a tailored, menswear inspired outfit, usually consisting of black cropped pants, white shirt, blazer and a red lip. Angelina Jolie wore a similar outfit at this years Bafta Awards. The Valentino Rockstud Pumps are simple and elegant featuring one stud one the back of the shoe. Zara offer a similar pair at €79.95 but have a higher heel. The flat sole and pointed toe have made it big this winter, and seems like they're here to stay.
The next are the Stuart Weitzman 'nudist' heel. These remind me of the 90's and love that they're back in. They're easy to walk in because the ankle strap gives support, and the heel is not super high. I love how simple and and sophisticated they look. Another pair are the Topshop 'Rolo' sandals which go for €53.80. These very similar, but have thicker straps.
These Dolce & Gabbana heels are perfect for both daytime and evening in spring. They're casual yet the sparkly heel makes them glamourous. I found a pair at Zara that are almost identical except the material is more matte. These would look great on cropped pants or even a shift dress.
Pink has been huge this season! From pink coats and sweaters to pink shoes in Spring. The Sophia Webster 'Eva' pumps is different and adds fun to a tailored outfit anytime. Webster in known for her quirky shoes with regards to colour and shape. The shape is classic but the designer plays around with the texture of the heel and embellishments. Zara have a pink pair that are not identical but quite similar in shape. These remind me of the 60's 'Twiggy' look. The outfit below is quite neutral and casual, the pink shoes make is different and fun.
Onto flats. As you probably can tell I'm into menswear inspired clothing. If worn well, a pair of brogues can be very feminine and flattering. They can be worn with a tailored outfit, or even on jeans for a more casual look. The high end pair are Martin Margiela. They are patent and with no laces, cannot get more minimal. The more affordable pair are Zara. I actually prefer these because of the laces and the detailing in the front. Olivia Palermo wears a pair of brogues two ways, and I think they look gorgeous!
The final pair are these slip on trainers. I think these would look so cool with a pair of jeans and a white T-shirt. They're casual and fun. The first pair are Saint Laurent and go for € 350, but since their not a pair of "wear with anything" shoes, the Steve Madden ones are available and much more affordable at €71.
