Trend Analysis

Hey guys! As we are approaching the end of September, any fashionista knows that all the major fashion weeks are coming to an end. For our first post we thought it would be ideal to analyse the trends we have been seeing on the runways for A/W 2013/14 and incorporate them into varied outfits you can adapt to your everyday wardrobe.

Trend no.1: BLUE

As seen at Céline or Chloé, Blue, in particular, the deep and intense navy blue is definitely a colour to be caught seen in walking the streets, be it day or night. Worn in any way, this classic colour is sure to be the standout colour of the coming winter.

Below are two different looks we put together based on our Blue Trend post. Our first look is a blue playsuit; NastyGal 2013, paired with Navy Topshop booties, Mark B at Topshop Backpack and a Zara statement necklace. It's perfect for that autumn weather which one could dress up by adding the right touch of accessory. We chose to go for a day look that can be easily elevated with a pair of heels and a clutch for a spontaneous night out.

The second outfit is more structured and tailored. The intense Navy from the blazer and the detail on the playsuit really stays true to the Trend. Incorporating all the different Gold accents together using the belt gave it a more elegant look.

We've recently been seeing a lot of denim on the streets, even different shades of denim paired together.  Olivia Palermo is seen wearing this trend for both a casual stroll in NYC and a more fashion forward look at this seasons New York Fashion Week by adding a white tailored blazer and heels.

Below is a casual way of pairing denim, we personally prefer to have contrast between the pieces, so that the denim doesn't clash. As personal preference we chose a two toned neutral bag with leopard print loafers to make an effortless outfit more interesting.

Here, we tried out Olivia Palermo's look using more affordable pieces.

Trend no.3: Leather

Here we paired a very laid-back, Cara Delevigne inspired outfit. The leather leggings can be worn in various ways, either paired with a varsity style Adidas top, or can be played up with a black cami and a cropped bright jacket for a pop of colour.

We leave you hoping this post starts you off with ideas for your A/W wardrobe, keeping in mind that it's always good to think out of the box! We will be keeping you updated with different styles and ideas soon enough :)

Until next time,

En and Stef
xoxo
